My skincare routine is suprisingly simple

Dearest graceful ager,
Confession:
My daily skincare routine is very simple.
As an esthetician, people often assume my bathroom counter must look like a laboratory lined with dozens of serums, creams and complicated routines and in all honesty, it does.
Over the years I’ve attended countless seminars, trainings and industry events and I often come home with new products to learn about or try. Yes, there are quite a few bottles and jars sitting on my counter, but in reality, I don’t actually use most of them.
In fact, my daily skincare routine is surprisingly simple.
Working closely with skin day after day (my own) and in the treatment room, I’ve learned that there is something the skincare industry doesn’t typically emphasize: healthy skin usually thrives on simplicity rather than excess.
Some of the most stressed and reactive skin I see belongs to people who are trying to do too much. They’re using layer after layer of actives, too many products, not using said products properly and are attempting too many aggressive treatments at home.
Skin, much like the rest of our body, often responds best when we support its natural systems rather than constantly pushing it harder.
For me, healthy skin centers around two key things: supporting
the skin barrier and stimulating collagen.
Your skin barrier is your body’s first line of defense. When it’s healthy, it helps maintain hydration, protects against environmental stressors, and keeps skin calm and resilient. When it’s compromised, skin becomes reactive, inflamed and more difficult to treat.
That’s why I tend to favor gentle cleansing, thoughtful hydration and ingredients that strengthen the barrier rather than constantly pushing the skin harder with aggressive treatments at home.
The second piece is collagen.
Beginning in our thirties, collagen production naturally slows down. Over time, this affects skin firmness, elasticity and overall structure.
While creams can certainly support the skin, some of the most meaningful long-term improvements come from treatments that encourage the skin to rebuild collagen from within.
Treatments like micro-needling or radio-frequency don’t just sit on the surface, they stimulate the skin’s own regenerative processes.
In my experience, that combination of a calm, supported barrier and thoughtful collagen stimulation tends to create the most sustainable, graceful skin health over time.
It may not be the most glamorous answer, but experience has shown me that great skin rarely comes from doing more. It comes from doing the right things consistently.
Here’s what my daily routine typically looks like:
Morning
• Wash face with warm water
• Apply Hydrinity Restorative HA Serum to support the skin barrier
• Apply Hydrinity Eye Cream
• Apply Hydrinity Vitamin C Moisturizer
Evening
• Gentle cleanse with Crunchi Gentle Cleansing Bar
• Apply Skinplicity Tallow Moisturizer
1–2 times per week
• Exfoliating treatment with Crunchi I AM Polished Exfoliator
Beyond that, I focus far more on treatments that stimulate collagen over time such as micro-needling, radio-frequency and Intense pulsed light rather than constantly adding more products to my routine.
For me, healthy skin is less about doing more each day and more about supporting the skin consistently and encouraging collagen regeneration over time.
